Stranded in the middle of a hungry ocean, we found ourselves naked and afraid: naked, for if we continued to cling to the Scandinavian themes which had initially carried us forward, we knew it would only cause further storms; afraid, because we knew we could not psychologically endure any further trauma of the sort wrought by that one nefarious individual nor the community which they supposedly served.

Yet there amidst the wreckage of our hopes, surrounded by unseen, voracious creatures and tossed about by the rip tides, we found ourselves succumbing to a certain strange-found peace:

Syrenity.

In the most desperate time of our lives, the ocean became our primary source of solace. When all Practice fell to the wayside, one constant held true: on the shoreline at sunset, the Gods stood near, and no matter how hopeless or distraught we felt, those Gods were ready and waiting with comforting arms and wave-breathed ministrations of comfort. 

Syrenity was born out of the Principles of Heidhr Craft, much of which was sourced from Michelle Iacona’s original Dragonfly Theology. Those became this Tradition’s initial sources because, regardless of anything else, those principles remained sound. It is a mer-based magickal Path which lives within a Folkloric Framework, though unattached to any specific cultural history or background. Rather than a set Pantheon, the Gods are welcomed via Archetypes, opening the Way for a variety of experiences of the Divine. Perhaps more than anything else, it is a Path which is intended to be lived, every day in every way: a Path to be experienced.
